St. Mary’s Photography Club, is a great way for those interested in photography, to learn about the craft. The club is offered to all 7th and 8th grade students, with club meetings held every Thursday from 1:00-1:45pm. During the weekly meetings, students learn the different camera types, camera functions, lens options, lighting, shading, angles, and all that goes along with capturing those perfect memories. Members critique eachother’s work, and continue to perfect the Art of Photography.
You do NOT need to own your own camera to join the club. We have donors that have graciously donated a total of eight cameras thus far, for club members to use. Currently, the club has eight members, which include: 2 Photo Editors, 2 Writing Editors, 2 Photographers, and 2 Interviewers. The students offer their services for anyone needing pictures taken, and writing articles. Right now, they are busy working on the yearbook photos and writings, but will always make time to offer their services. Students in the Photography club share the love of picture taking!!
Donations: The photography club is always in need of more photography supplies (old or new cameras, AAA Batteries, SD Cards). We are also looking for professional photographers that would like to donate some of their time to come speak with the Photography Club about experiences they have had with photography. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
If your student is interested in joining the Photography club, or if you would like to make a donation to the photography club, please contact the school office at 402-476-3987.
